1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Crimson Syndicate, a free-to-play browser-based RPG operated by EH and available at crimsonsyndicate.se. By accessing or using the game, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use Crimson Syndicate.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the game after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Please review this document periodically.

2. Account Registration and Security

To access certain features of Crimson Syndicate, you must register for an account. When registering, you agree to:

Provide accurate, current, and complete information
Maintain and promptly update your account information
Keep your password confidential and secure
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

You must be at least 13 years of age to register. If you are under 18, you should have parental or guardian consent. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these requirements or that we reasonably believe to be fraudulent or abusive.

3. User Conduct / Acceptable Use

By using Crimson Syndicate, you agree to:

Play fairly and not use exploits, hacks, bots, or unauthorized third-party tools
Not harass, threaten, abuse, or discriminate against other players
Not impersonate staff, other users, or any entity
Not advertise, spam, or distribute unwanted commercial content
Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, databases, or other users' accounts
Comply with any additional game rules or community guidelines we publish

Violation of acceptable use may result in immediate suspension or permanent ban without refund.

4. Virtual Currency & Items (No Real-World Value)

Crimson Syndicate may offer virtual currency and in-game items (collectively "Virtual Items"). You acknowledge and agree that:

All Virtual Items have no real-world value and cannot be exchanged for cash or other consideration outside the game
Virtual Items are licensed, not sold; you receive a limited, non-exclusive license to use them within the game
We may modify, discontinue, or remove Virtual Items at any time without liability
Virtual Items may be forfeited upon account termination or for violations of these Terms

If you purchase Virtual Items with real money, such purchases are generally final and non-refundable except as required by applicable law.

5. Intellectual Property

Crimson Syndicate and all related content—including but not limited to graphics, text, software, music, design, and trade names—are owned by EH or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on the game or its content without our prior written consent. You retain no ownership rights in any content you create within the game (e.g., usernames, messages); by posting or submitting content, you grant us a license to use it in connection with operating the game.

6. Termination / Suspension

We may suspend or terminate your access to Crimson Syndicate at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violation of these Terms, fraud, or other misconduct.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using account closure tools we provide. Upon termination, your right to access the game and use Virtual Items ceases. We are not obligated to retain your data or restore your account after termination.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CRIMSON SYNDICATE AND EH ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE GAME, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in such cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. GDPR / Data Protection Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with similar data protection laws, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent legislation, including:

Right of access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure: You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
Right to data portability: You may request your data in a structured, commonly used format.

We process your data on lawful bases including consent, contract performance, legal obligation, and legitimate interests. For details, see our Privacy Policy.

We use cookies as described in our Privacy Policy: essential session cookies to run the game, and an optional “keep me logged in” cookie only if you choose it at login. Non-essential cookies (if any) are covered there, including when we would ask for consent.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Crimson Syndicate shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-game notice, email (where applicable), or by posting the updated Terms on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised.

Your continued use of Crimson Syndicate after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the game and may close your account.
